So with the camper being 13 feet longer than our rental over the summer, we needed to figure out how to tow it and this mostly became Joe‘s obsession. He went back and forth on a larger SUV and truck for weeks, but decided on truck after getting some advise from friends and reading a lot of blog posts. Joe quickly found out that the used truck market was just as crazy as the RV/Camper market. Once he decided on the size and style he was looking for the hunt was on. He looked at A LOT of interesting trucks. One reeked of smoke, one didn’t even have a tailgate, one was completely rusted on the bottom, many had too many miles. Goldilocks of the used truck market? Would he find the one that was ”just right”? Adding to his frustration, the good trucks seemed to fly out of the lots the same day they were listed for sale. It became a game. Tons of emails sent and phone calls made. Hours of internet searches. One morning he found it, right after it was posted. He emailed immediately. Called the second they opened and put down a deposit, sight unseen. When he got out out to the lot in Mannheim, the receptionist said “oh you’re the one who won the lotttery” 😂 Yes he did. Silver Ford F-250. It’s a beast!
