Come Along On Our Camper Adventures!

Tucson Day 1

Tuesday was our first full day in Tucson. We headed to Saguaro National Park. One thing we have noticed on this trip, there are not many people in the desert in July. This was not something we thought of when planning. Luckily, some cooler weather has moved into Tucson this week. It was only 90 today!

We experienced our first monsoon on the way into the west side of the park today. It was the east coast equivalent of a summer severe thunderstorm, minus the thunder. A lot of rain, falling really fast and winds. It was over a quick as it stated.

Saguaro was deserted and still too hot for most of us to do any hiking. We did a short drive on the west side to see the cacti and desert life in the park.

Heading over to the east side of the park later in the day, we hit more rain but not sure if it qualified as a monsoon. We did a longer drive and there was more life on that side of the desert since it was a the base of the mountains. Not our favorite park and definitely the wrong time of year to visit, but another one checked off our list.
