Wednesday was a travel day to reposition in Arkansas for a couple days before heading north. Everyone was tired and a little grumpy after our late arrival early Wednesday morning and the kids are getting to the point where they want to be back home. Six more days on this summers adventure. We decided a stop for takeout breakfast at a familiar favorite on the way, Cracker Barrel, was in order. It was a longer stop than we anticipated… they were running really slow in the restaurant. The kids enjoyed their breakfast though and we kept heading East. One of our middle’s favorite YouTubers posted a video about a gas station chain in Texas called Buc-ees that has enormous gas stations/convenient stores. We are from Eastern PA so Wawa is our jam, and a little further West in PA the Sheetz war starts…. But neither of them have anything on Buc-ees! We were passing by one so we had to stop for him. They have a bakery, fresh BBQ, more soda machines than we could count, 4 sets of Icee machines, a gift shop, fudge, a beef jerky counter and so much more. It was crazy and the kids had a blast picking out snacks. Joe even decided that everyone needed an Icee and in 25+ years… Pam can’t remember ever seeing Joe drink and Icee 😂
We arrived in Hot Springs, Arkansas and needed to hit a grocery store. Someone left the fridge unlocked and it came open while we were driving. In 100+ degree heat in the camper, we lost a bunch of food that would not be good after heating up 🤮. Hoping that is our last food run before home.
