Joe started planning our trip of a lifetime. He’s a planner. He’s a researcher. Rarely is a decision spontaneous, but I love him anyway. Who am I kidding… I function a lot better on a schedule too. He was quick to decide he wanted this trip to be all about US National Parks. This was his dream, so I decided I’d just sit back and enjoy the ride. He’d bought me a bathroom, shower and queen bed on wheels so it’s not really camping… right? I had one request. I’d like to see Mount Rushmore and Grand Canyon. Two places I hadn’t made it to as a child traveling with my parents and siblings. Many books were purchased. Blogs and websites poured over. Online planning programs and apps were purchased. More late nights. There is a spreadsheet. A massive, multi-tab spreadsheet containing daily schedules, campsites, mileage, drive time and more. Joe was at 7 weeks and we just thought it would be a little too long. So we cut some stuff, but already added them to our plans for our next adventure. The timeframe was set. Roll out when school let out in June and return in August. 45 days on the road. A lot of people think we are crazy. Most people think we are crazy. We are really excited!
