Come Along On Our Camper Adventures!

Day 5 – Badlands National Park

Today was our first day in Badlands National Park. It was amazing and beautiful! Everyone had a great time. after a stop at the visitors center, we decided to do the Badlands Loop Road and we were able to jump in and out of the truck throughout the park and see the geological formations and landscapes. You really can’t put it into words… which is an interesting thing to write in a blog 😂

Our first overlook stop had a short boardwalk trail and as two of the kids and I started our walk on it, we heard a very distinct rattle close by. We never actually saw the snake, but it was enough to freak me out 😳🐍 Ugh!

So many stops and so much to see. The kids enjoyed taking little explorations with Joe off the trails. Badlands is one of the few national parks to allow that.

After the tour of the Badlands, we headed to Wall Drug Store, which I can only describe as a cross between South of the Border and the kitschy town of Niagara Falls. Weird, but fun and the kids were able to shop for more souvenirs.

The teenager loved taking pictures of his own. The middle loved seeing prairie dogs. The baby is our little risk taker and was with her dad every step. Not one complaint today… a little sibling bickering, but not one complaint!
