We had such an amazing day! We left our site at Mesa Verde and headed back to Utah (and the desert) to spend a couple of days in the SE corner of the state and hit 2 parks. After we checked in and dropped the camper, we headed into town and found this super cute Food Truck Park in Moab for lunch. There were about 10 vendors and seating under a canopy so we were out of the sun. Food was great and everyone got to pick what they wanted.
After lunch we were headed towards Arches, but decided to take a side trip on a scenic byway across the street from our campsite. So we hit route 128, which turned out to be a 50 mile side trip, but – wow – was it a beautiful drive!
The kids loved the side trip!
We finally headed into Arches, started touring around and hitting pull-offs/overlooks.
Joe thought a 2 mile hike in the desert at 5 pm was a good idea… not so much. At least for me and the little lady. She rallied on the way back, me… not so much 😂 It was still oppressively hot at 5pm. But we did see some cool arches on the short hike.
