Come Along On Our Camper Adventures!

Day 21 – Boston

We had a busy day in Boston on Friday with Joe’s parents and his Aunt, who lives in Boston, joined us for the day. We got into the city around lunch so immediately headed to Quincy Market for lunch. Chowder, Açaí Bowls, Mac and Cheese…. so good! After lunch we hopped on a trolly and headed up to the Boston Navy Yard to see the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill. The Constitution was closed when we got there for a Navy event. So we headed over to the USS Cassin Young. We ended up getting a tour from a NPS Ranger of the normally closed upper and lower decks and it turned out to be a private tour for just our family. He was so nice and a definite history buff. Very cool experience.

That ended up eating most of our afternoon, so we took the trolly down to pick up part of the Freedom Trail. Most sites were closed by the time we got to them, but we did walk by Copp’s Hill Burying Ground, Old North Church, and Paul Revere’s House. Also walked through Little Italy. Walking through, we noticed a bakery with quite the crowd. So of course we stopped. Mike’s Pastry had the best cannolis we have ever had! So good and we grabbed some other treats too!

After grabbing the cars, we headed to the Back Bay Neighborhood. Our middle teen had seen a pizza place on Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives that he wanted to try out so we stopped at Dirty Water Dough for pizza. Crowded, but worth the stop. We headed back to the camper exhausted… but ready to tackle Saturday!
