We had a short travel day to Massachusetts and met up with Joe’s parents. After setting up and having lunch, we headed to Salem for the day. We started out the National Park Visitors center. Salem is a National Historic Site, so run by the NPS. Then we headed to the Salem Witch Museum. A little hokey, but a good run through of the Salem witch trials.
After dinner, we had a History and Hauntings walking tour. It was super interesting to hear the 400 year history of Salem. Most people hear Salem and think witches. But in reality, the witch trials only took place over a 4 month period in 1692. There is so much more history in this city than that. Salem was a cute city. It reminded us of a cross between West Chester, PA and Cape May, NJ.
