We left Bryce Canyon and the hoodoos behind this morning and headed to Zion! Still in Utah, but making our way south toward Grand Canyon. The drive was about 2.5 hours and Joe was thrilled to not have a long drive day! We arrived at our home for the next 4 nights – Zion River Resort. It’s beautiful and we are excited to be parked for a while. It’s hot here. Like really hot. 108 degrees today (104 when we arrived at 11:30am!) and there is no such thing as dry heat. It was just hot! We set up camp and made lunch, then decided a dip in the pool was in order to cool off. We had to drag the teenager out, but once we all got in, we were having fun. Joe decided it was too hot to cook, so we headed out into town to find dinner. This town is so cute and has a “Colorado” feel to it. Similar to a ski town. Lots of shops, restaurants, tours and surprisingly coffee shops. Nothing says 108 degrees like a hot latte in the middle of the day. A lot of the towns where the national parks are we’ve been to so far have not too much to brag about. A general store, couple of restaurants and maybe an ice cream shop… but this town is super cute. We drove up to the park gate and I can’t wait to go in tomorrow. It is gorgeous here!
