Today was our last day in San Francisco. We drove out to Fairfield to the Jelly Belly factory. Joe and I went there on our trip here 17 years ago, and thought the kids would enjoy it. It was still fun all these years later.
We headed back towards our camper because the rims Joe ordered to replace the broken one came in and we needed to find a place to mount and install them. He has an appointment Thursday at 8 just before we need to head out to Yosemite.
After dinner we decided to head back to the waterfront. We wanted to show the kids the sea lions. When we were here in 2005 in early June, there were a ton on them on the pier. Today – there were none! Apparently, they migrate south for mating season. So bummed the kids missed them.
Cable cars were next on the list. Another favorite from our first trip. I think mom was the most excited for this, but after a long wait in line in the cold, everyone might have lost some of the excitement. We rode down to Union Street and then decided to Uber back to the warf rather than wait for a return car at 10pm.
The kids were troopers during the long wait so we thought another visit to Ghirardelli for ice cream was in order. Tomorrow we move on.
