About
We are The Trainor Family! Joe and Pam are high school sweethearts and started dating when they were 14! Now married for 20 years (together for 30 years!) they are parents to two boys ages 17 and 14, an 11 year old daughter and a 4 year old rescue dog, Charlie. 2020 brought about a lot of changes and struggles for everyone around the world, but our family got the chance to slow down and take a breath. Joe had always dreamed of renting a RV and taking a big family trip out west. In 2021, his dream became a reality when we purchased our own camper and started planning the biggest adventure of our lifetime. Come along and follow our camper adventures.
Meet the Family
Joe
(The Father)
When he’s not busy as Interim Dean, he is an even busier father. Joe is an avid camper, well versed fisherman, expert handyman, powerful storyteller, car enthusiast, and camper-driver extraordinaire. Our camper adventures are a fulfillment of his lifelong dream to visit the National Parks.
Pam
(The Mother)
Whether it’s making sure we’re on schedule or finding the best ice cream around, Pam makes sure we always have a great time. On top of that, she maintains this blog as a record of our travels. Once a strong advocate against exploring the outdoors, she has grown to love the camper experience. Still, you won’t catch her in a tent any time soon.
The First
(The Tech-y One)
When he isn’t working on some sort of project, you’ll normally find this child watching TV, playing video games, or reading. Catch him when he’s camping with the scouts or in a national park however, and you’ll meet an outdoors man who enjoys hiking, fishing, canoeing, camping, backpacking, and so much more. How’s that for “touching grass”?
The Second
(The Comedian)
As the family comedian, resident cook, and car enthusiast, he sure has a lot on his plate. His street smarts are definitely the highest of the siblings, often pointing out solutions that the other two overthink. He enjoys camping, rigorous hikes, and silly side trips such as our 50 mile pie excursion.
The Third
(The Know It All)
Sassy pre-teen extraordinaire, she is the self proclaimed “smart one” of the family. When she isn’t buried in her phone, her iPad, or a good book, she’s taking photos, completing jr ranger packets, eating ice cream, or acting as the pamphlet tour guide. Just make sure you don’t catch her hangry (hungry/angry) side unprepared.
Charlie
(The Puppy)
While she doesn’t like the travel aspect of our experiences, Charlie is an amazing hiking buddy and an avid peanut butter lover. Be warned though! If you say the word “walk” around her or throw her favorite toy, red stick, you have contractually obligated yourself to at least an hour of play.
