Come Along On Our Camper Adventures!

Last Trip of 2022

I’ve been told by some people that I neglected the blog at the end of our summer trip and failed to mention fall. By some people, I mostly mean my husband! The summer trip was amazing but once we hit Nashville and the middle kid was sick, it was game over for me. I just wanted to get home and felt horrible he had to travel while feeling sick. So I wasn’t feeling very “bloggy”. Is that even a word? Summer 2023 plans are already being discussed. A shorter trip this time and we are staying on the east coast.

As for Fall, we only took one trip over Labor Day weekend. The baby kid committed to dancing in the Nutcracker and has been at rehersals every Sunday since the second week in September. Her schedule did not leave time for weekend trips.

Labor Day weekend we headed to Chincoteaque Island Virgina and stayed at a Jellystone Resort. Aunt, Uncle, Cousins and Grandparents joined us this time since there were cabins for rent at this resort. Two things we did not plan on… lines and crowds getting onto the island on a holiday weekend and the bugs. Oh the mosquitos were awful! If we go again, we need to think more about stronger bug sprays, screeened cannopies, bug candles/zappers…. something. It was brutal. But the kids still had a ton of fun with cousins and there was a water park on property which is always a good time. We also visited the NASA Wallops Flight Facility which is on Chincoteaque and everyone enjoyed that.

We stopped at Asateague Island on the way home, but it is a good 90 minutes to drive around to the entrance and the kids were tired at that point and really didn’t want to stop at all. We plan on going back to Asateague again with our Florida nieces since they love horses!
