The rain finally moved out and we spent Monday hiking gorges and boulder caves. We had an awesome day and saw some awesome sights.
We started at Franconia Notch State Park and hiked the Flume Gorge. 2 miles up and down hills, 500 feet of elevation, 800 stairs. It was a tough one but beautiful! We were a hot and sweaty bunch at the end. Not sure if these pictures do it justice.
After lunch we headed to Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves for more hiking. This one was shorter. 1 mile of boardwalk through the gorge, 200 feet of elevation and 1,000 stairs. Not as impressive, but the kids loved going through all the boulder caves and Pam loved that the boardwalk allowed her to bypass all the caves and still stay with everyone! One of their favorites was the “lemon squeezer”. The squeezer guage at the top of the cave was key in seeing if you would fit through 😂
Back at the camper Joe and Caroline spent some time floating down the river that runs by our campsite. There are 4 areas with River access. Enter at the top and end up at the end. It was a real life lazy River.
